Schloss Henkell (Henkell Castle), as the event area and the finish of the marathon and half marathon, is the central hub of the Henkell 0.0 % Vinothon. Three courses take you through one of Germany’s most beautiful landscapes – in the midst of the world-renowned wine region, past famous wine estates, historic sites and impressive monuments.

Experience savour on the run!
At the Henkell 0.0 % best times are not the focus. Of course, there is an award ceremony – but above all, you gain special moments, shared savour and an unforgettable day in the Rheingau and in Wiesbaden. For 2027, you can choose between three distances: marathon (42.2 km), half marathon (21.1 km) and Rheingau Course (12.5 km). You enjoy nature and historic scenery, discover regional delicacies at the Savour Stations and let yourself be charmed by the hospitality of the Rheingau wine estates.
The marathon starts at Abtei St. Hildegard (St. Hildegard Abbey) in Rüdesheim am Rhein, the half marathon at the Draiser Hof at Baron Knyphausen in Eltville am Rhein. Both courses lead to the Ehrenhof of Schloss Henkell (Henkell Castle) in Wiesbaden. The Rheingau Course begins in the courtyard of Schloss Vollrads (Vollrads Castle) in Oestrich-Winkel and finishes at the Draiser Hof. From there, participants continue to the central event area at Schloss Henkell.
On all distances, vineyards, castles, Rhine panoramas and various Savour Stations with water, sports nutrition and regional specialities await you. At Schloss Henkell, the savour continues: at the Rheingau Wine Expo, participating Rheingau wine estates present themselves right in the middle of the event area. Add to that music, food trucks, the finisher medal, the finisher shirt and the award ceremonies – a shared finale for runners, friends, families and spectators.
Three distances through the Rheingau and Wiesbaden:
Run through vineyards, historic castle grounds and along the Rhine – in the marathon, the half marathon or on the Rheingau Course over 12.5 km.

Run with friends, colleagues or family and experience a special day in the Rheingau together: on the course and at the After-Run Party at Schloss Henkell.
Run at your own pace and take your time for the view, the Savour Stations and everything you come across along the way.
The Henkell 0.0 % takes you right through the Rheingau – past vineyards, historic castles and the Rhine. Along the courses, every 3 to 5 kilometres, Savour Stations await you at Rheingau wine estates and partners, with water, sports nutrition and culinary surprises from the region. Pure savour over 12.5, 21.1 or 42.2 kilometres.
3 starts and 2 finishes:For the marathon, a shuttle takes you to the start at Abtei St. Hildegard (St. Hildegard Abbey) in Rüdesheim. From here, you run in start groups with the Niederwalddenkmal behind you, vineyards on your left and the Rhine on your right. Along the course, you pass Geisenheim and Schloss Johannisberg (Johannisberg Castle). Via Oestrich-Winkel, the view opens up towards Wiesbaden and you reach Schloss Vollrads (Vollrads Castle). If you have chosen the Rheingau Course, you start here and finish after 12.5 km at the Draiser Hof / Weingut Baron Knyphausen in Eltville. From there, a shuttle takes you to Schloss Henkell (Henkell Castle) to celebrate together with all runners. Half marathon runners start at the Draiser Hof and continue with the marathon runners via Erbach to Eltville am Rhein, through Walluf and along the flat banks of the Rhine to the Schiersteiner Hafen. Through the palace park of Biebrich, the final climb leads into the Ehrenhof of Schloss Henkell.

Yes, to ensure the high quality of the event, there is a limited number of starting places in the first year. It pays to be quick!

Before the run, shuttle buses take you from the event area at Schloss Henkell (Henkell Castle) to your respective starting point. The marathon starts at Abtei St. Hildegard (St. Hildegard Abbey) in Rüdesheim, the half marathon at the Draiser Hof at Baron Knyphausen and the Rheingau Course at Schloss Vollrads (Vollrads Castle).
After crossing the Rheingau Course finish line at the Draiser Hof at Baron Knyphausen in Eltville am Rhein, runners are taken by shuttle to the main event area at Schloss Henkell (Henkell Castle) in Wiesbaden.

The SavourMarathon combines movement with regional savour. Alongside classic sports nutrition such as water and fruit, the wine estates open their doors and invite you to culinary highlights from the Rheingau – with no competitive pressure, but plenty of experience. Those for whom savour is the focus at the Vinothon can enjoy, alongside alcohol-free options, a tasting glass of wine at selected stations.

All runners pass various Savour Stops every 3 to 6 kilometres. High-quality sports nutrition is also provided at all stops. More information to follow.
