Participation Rules

Last updated on 2026/09/14 | Valid from 2026/09/07

The Terms and Conditions, which govern conclusion of contract, payment and the right of withdrawal, apply in addition.

  1. Organiser, registration and contract

The organiser of the 2nd Henkell 0.0 % Vinothon – Wiesbaden·Rheingau GenussMarathon on 17 April 2027 is Walter Events & Consulting – WEC GmbH, Kneippstraße 11, 63683 Ortenberg, Germany, represented by its Managing Director Kai Walter.

Registration takes place online via RACE RESULT. The participation contract is concluded once registration has been fully completed and electronically confirmed. Where a fee applies, the right to participate exists only after successful payment. Payment is processed via RACE RESULT and the payment service provider indicated during the payment process.

Registration is personal and non-transferable. Incorrect information may lead to exclusion.

  2. Participation, age and organisation

Participation is open to persons who are at least 16 years old on the day of the event. Participation is excluded for persons under 16. Participants aged 16 or 17 may only enter the half marathon and require the confirmed consent of a parent or legal guardian. From the age of 18, all three events are open.

For minors, the parent or legal guardian additionally confirms participation and knowledge of these rules.

Instructions given by the organiser, emergency services and course marshals must be followed. Race numbers and the timing system must not be altered or passed on to third parties. Unsporting conduct, taking shortcuts, false information or breaches of safety rules may result in exclusion.

  3. Health, risks and liability

Participation is at the participant’s own risk. Each participant confirms that they are in adequate physical condition and able to assess the specific demands of the chosen distance as well as the conditions on roads, paths and natural terrain.

The liability of the organiser and its vicarious agents is governed by statutory provisions. Any further liability for damage caused by slight negligence is excluded to the extent legally permissible. Claims arising from injury to life, body or health, as well as mandatory statutory liability, remain unaffected.

  4. Changes, cancellation and force majeure

The organiser may change routes, start times, services or the course of the event for safety reasons, due to official requirements, weather, force majeure or other circumstances beyond its control. The published routes are subject to official approval.

In the event of cancellation or abandonment, refunds and further claims are governed by the specific cause and by mandatory statutory provisions. Section 7 of the Terms and Conditions applies in addition.

  5. Cancellation and additional items

The date on which the cancellation reaches the organiser is decisive. A proportion of the basic entry fee is refunded as follows:

    • until 31.10.2026: 85 %
    • 01.11.2026 to 15.01.2027: 55 %
    • 16.01.2027 to 15.04.2027: 25 %
    • from 16.04.2027: no refund

Optional additional items are not automatically included in this proportional refund of the entry fee. A separately charged finisher shirt and medal engraving may be cancelled up to and including 14.03.2027. After that date, the order, size and personalisation are binding and can no longer be changed or refunded. Medal engraving costs 15.00 euros including 19 % VAT and, according to current planning, will be issued at Schloss Henkell.

Cancellations and refunds are reviewed and processed manually.

  6. Photography, film and audio recordings

Photographs, film and audio recordings are made during the event for reporting, documentation and the promotion of future events. Participants acknowledge that they may be depicted.

The legal basis is the organiser’s legitimate interest in documenting and promoting the event pursuant to Article 6 (1) (f) GDPR. Recordings that focus on individual persons are published only with separate consent.

Publication may be objected to at any time, informally by email to info@vinothon-genussmarathon.de. Publications already made in print remain unaffected.

  7. Data protection and newsletter

Personal data is processed for registration, payment, timing, publication of results, communication and the running of the event. The organiser’s privacy notice applies, as do the notices of RACE RESULT and of the payment service provider indicated during the payment process.

Newsletter consent is voluntary, not selected by default and not a condition of participation. It may be withdrawn at any time with effect for the future.

  8. Final provisions and language

Should individual provisions be or become invalid, the validity of the remaining provisions shall remain unaffected. German law applies. Rules on jurisdiction and consumer protection apply only to the extent permitted by law.

This is a translation provided for convenience. In the event of any discrepancy, the German version of these Participation Rules shall prevail.
